I really loved this cozy mystery. I gave it 5 stars. Set in Galway Island, Ireland, which I googled images of the area to understand the landscape.
The main character was not too annoying, nor did she do stupid illegal things. Everyone was a suspect. I was able to pick up a few clues that were subtle in their presentation. All the residents of this town were tight lipped, and maybe even stereotyped, so I could feel the MC frustration with the town folk. I liked how she got better at playing along that she knew what they were talking about to get more info.
There is a love interest, which surprisingly is not the local law enforcement, not typical in a cozy.
I thought it was a tiny bit more bloody and graphic that other cozy series. But way better done, so maybe those descriptions were necessary.
I am looking into reading more by this author and hope her other series are just as good.
