Murder in a Teacup is the second installment in the Tea by the Sea mystery series set on Cape Cod, MA and featuring teashop owner Lily Roberts. Lily's grandmother Rose is looking forward to having an old friend from Grand Lake, Iowa come to stay at the B&B. Sandra McHenry is arriving along with her son and his wife, her grandson and his wife, her two great grandchildren and her granddaughter Heather French.

Heather is a young and wealthy widow. She'd married Norman French, a man decades her Senior much to the dismay of her family, and moved away to New York City. Norman's start up company hit it big, he became rich and then died in a hit and run accident. Heather has also invited Norman's estranged brother Ed and his wife to join the group at the B&B. It quickly becomes apparent that there are no warm and fuzzy feelings between these people instead they are all focused on spending Heather's money. When a member of the family drops dead after afternoon tea, it seems that one of them is also a killer.

Lily must team up with best friend Bernie, Rose, Detective Redmond and Simon to "steep" out the murderer before her tea shop and the B&B go under. A fast paced plot with the return of well developed characters, makes for a delightful addition to the series.
