Really good YA novel by newbery medalist Karen Hesse.
Mila, a young girl has been raised by dolphins, then 'rescued' by humans who try to teach her the 'benefits' of human-style living. Milla, to the dismay of the researchers studying the rescued girl, would still prefer to live with her dolphin friends. Can Mila escape from her rescuers, who are angry at her ingratitude (and loath to lose a research subject) to return to her friends in the sea?

This was an interesting read. I thought Mila really made a nice effort to try to be human, she sounded like a nice girl.
