This book is a great account of what it was like to be a woman soldier during the Civil War. I really hate to give it up. The battles are described as well as the hardships in a narrative style making you feel a part of it. A very brave woman of her time and very deserving of the recognition she finely receives. I enjoyed the writers style and approach in writing the book. This one is so much better and more thorough than the other book I read for younger readers about Emma Thompson. This is a must read for all Civil War history buffs.
