Not ready for Nancy Drew, consider Cam Jansen with a photographic memory she tries and crack the case of the "Stolen Diamonds"! I don't want to give it all away but after reading only a few chapter most young readers are "hooked"! Cam and her friend Eric are just sitting at the mall when an alarm goes off. Cam sees a man running from the jewelry store but its too late when the police arrest the wrong person. Will Cam and Eric be able to catch the REAL thief? That's a quick summary. Written for beginning readers its a great beginning chapter book. Small chapters keep readers "Reading" without getting tired. The only thing I personally didn't like as a (parent) was some of the rude comments Eric makes about having to watch his little sister while his mom is shopping; even though I have to admit most kids would find watching a little sibling more of a chore then fun.
I liked it, it kept you guessing.
