Detailed biography of actress Natalie Wood, whose über-stage-mother makes Mama Rose in Gypsy look like Donna Reed. Of necessity, the book ends with Wood's drowning death, noting the various discrepancies but not drawing any conclusions.

This book could have been cut down by one-third without hurting the story. The writer has about three points she beats to death over and over. Give the readers a little credit for being able to figure it out. Good ending. It leaves her death in question.
