Interesting story with a light and sweet love story. Was not a page-turner for me but I did want to finish it. I was pleased with how it ended . . . everyone got what 'I' wanted them to 'deserve'. For a Historical Fiction: Not heavy on the history. Probably accurate on the roles for men and women at the time. Worth the time to read.

This book is great. It is not a cheesy, trashy piece of historical fiction. Historical novels are rarely so dignified. I loved the interplay between the English and Welsh languages. It was an entertaining work of fiction.

Attention historical fiction readers!

NECTAR FROM A STONE is a wonderful book about 14th century medieval Wales. Jane Guill has done her research and does a good job writing about the customs and mind-set of the people. Her entertaining novel has adventure, suspense and romance. It is filled with villains and heroes and at the end of the story.....your belief in goodness will be restored!

Entertaining enough. I enjoyed the description of Wales, a country I'm fascinated with, but there was a lot of description that made me feel as if the author wrote this as a movie, not a novel. I have an imagination and can picture things without having to have them described 14 different ways, thankyouverymuch.

The story is predictable, but sometimes you need and like predictability when you read. The bad get punished, the good prevail, and all is happy. Not the most satisfying read I've ever come across, but not the worst, either.
