This was the first 'nerd' book I read and is my absolute favorite (read 3 so far). An accountant at a casino was raised my a showgirl mom who has a man who' believed to be connected to the mob...he falls for a showgirl and her little boy who's a 'genius' and helps her hide from her son's father who is trying to get the boy..for such a serious storyline it's full of humor and of course sex.

Very cute and funny book. My mom and I both enjoyed it a lot. Good for a quick read. I've loved her books since I've read Nerd in Shining Armor.1

This book was good enough for me to finish, but not high on my list of good books I've read. It had the typical fluff but it was full of plot holes. The characters also did a lot of thinking, doing, or planning to do stupid things that will make a person's eyes roll up into their heads. Even though the plot was weak, there were some really steamy sex scenes.

I was afraid to read the 2nd book in the series first, but did it anyway. Boy am I glad I did. The series appears to be stand alone with with the same theme, "Nerds".

This was a very quick moving story with great charater interaction and a happy ending. (I love a happy ending ;~} .)

reviewed The Nerd Who Loved Me (Nerds, Bk 2) on
This book is about a mom who left her abusive husband to make a life for herself and her son as a dancer in Vegas and lives peacefully until her no good x decides that he needs her back in his life so that he can inherit his inheritance as his father says no offspring no inherit. Then she goes on the run with her son and the geeky accountant who was baby sitting when her x tried to break in and take his son from Lainies apartment. There is some sex in the book later on and while it's not graphic by standards it is sex, so do be aware of that. I thought the book was entertaining, a good once only read, but it was not so exceptional that I'd keep it.

Anothe great Nerd book. Lanie is the young mom of a boy genius, 4 year old Dexter. She is also a Vegas showgirl. The accountant at the casino where she works is her neighbor. Harry is also Dexters new off and on babysitter. Harry is a super nerd, no matter how hunky, and he and Dexter seem to do just fine when they are together.

When Lanie's ex, Dexter's dad, comes to Vegas looking for his son to use in a sceme to get back in his rich fathers good graces, Harry wisks she and Dexter away - to the home of his mom, EX SHOWGIRL Rona and her boyfriend, who may or may not be involved with a certain type of italian group of men who are known to be, ummm, wise guys....

While trying to keep her ex away from her son, Lanie and Harry must play house with each other. The trip they take to fall in love is funny and sweet and full of great side characters that make this book worth the read!!!! The Nerd series, so far, is a BLAST!!!!

The book was fast, funny and witty. It was enjoyable to read. I really like Vicki Lewis Thompson's heroes. Most men aren't well developed jocks. It is nice to have a hero that is smart, sensitive and an average guy. Actually, Vicki Lewis Thompson makes average look very sexy! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh and enjoy a good romance!

I was in the mood for some comedy so I pulled this out of my ever increasing to be read pile. I was not disappointed, but did not find it too funny either. This would be a nice summer beach book.

Lainie is a single mom who is also a Las Vegas Showgirl. Harry is the boring accountant at the casino Lainie works at and finds himself smitten. It turns out that Harrys mother is a retired showgirl and has decided that he wanted to find a nice normal wife. Your standard romance book conflict.

Lainies son Dexter is a genius adorable 4 year old whose father was a spoiled rotten rich kid. Lainie had left Dexters father Joey years before because of his drinking and lack of desire to be a father. Now due to a possible inheritance, Joey needs Dexter to get into his families good graces.

Harry and his Mom, Rona along with several other retired showgirls and Rona's long time boyfriend, Leo help show Lainie what having a real family and love are all about by protecting her and Dexter from Joey.

This is my favorite nerd book and the first one I read. I loved it! It's sexy and so funny. The side characters add a lot to the story as well. The only serious part to this book is the exbf coming after the woman and her kid but the overall tone is funny. She goes on the run with an accountant where she works(she's a showgirl) and they go to check out a 'timeshare' investment that's rundown and filled with rattlesnakes. She writes some pretty hot scenes as well. Great read for humor and sexy.

Straightlaced accountant Harry Ambrewster grew up as the mascot for a gaggle of Vegas showgirls, his mother Rona among them. Though he picked up some useful skills (like how to belt out the entire score of Oklahoma), the experience left him with one rule: never marry a showgirl. Still, that doesn't stop him from lusting after his neighbor, Lainie Terrell, or sympathizing with her son, Dexter, a younger version of himself. When Lainie's ex-boyfriend, Joey, shows up looking to use Dexter as bait to gain his inheritance from his tycoon father, Lainie accepts help from Harry, Rona and Rona's senior citizen boyfriend, who may have connections to the Mafia. Rona cares for Dexter while Lainie and Harry hide out at a Sedona time-share. Despite their Vegas heritage, Lainie and Harry possess a charming innocence, and their journey toward lovein what turns out to be a humorously decrepit vacation spotprovides constant entertainment. Smart, spunky and delightfully over the top, Thompson's newest Nerd romance (following Nerd in Shining Armor) possesses all the sparkle and vibrancy of a Vegas show, and it's just as sexy.

Accountant Harry isn't really a babysitter. He is just watching Dexter, Vegas showgirl Lainie's brilliant son, until her shift is over. But when Joey, Dexter's estranged Neanderthal of a father, tries to break down the door to get the little boy, Harry shimmies down a tree with Dexter and escapes. Making sure that Dexter is in a safe, well-protected house, Harry goes on the lam with Lainie. Thompson has filled her hilarious tour de force with unforgettable characters: a geek who becomes an alpha male when the love of his life is threatened; a Vegas showgirl trying to be both mother and father to her son; a four-year-old genius; a bevy of matchmaking, retired Vegas dancers; a too-enthusiastic condo salesman; an alleged Mob boss; a six-foot rattlesnake; and a dog named Fred. Thompson's many fans will be anxious to read her latest sexy, madcap, and highly entertaining adventure.
