I was very excited to read this book. The synopsis of Salem's Lot meets Rosemary's Baby just had me from the get go. It started off well enough. A slow burn is how I would describe it. Not a whole lot going on but just enough to make the hair prickle on the nape of your neck. Then the last quarter of the book happens and "BAM", no more slow burn. Just a mass of constant creepy chaos that will keep your nose in the book to see it to the end. What a crazy rush and a great ending!
I would have to say that my only complaint would be during the slow burn it didn't have characters that I identified with or even cared for. Georgia would've been the only one and she didn't show up too often. It made it a bit hard to get through that area but not too much. The writing was awesome enough to look over that.
