Below is the bib from teh back of the book. It was an OK book. The back cover is Extremly more intense and dramatic then the story really is. In fact in many cases I found the back cover discription not even close.
Still all in all its an ok story

Ah, now *this* is the Liz Carlyle I know & love! Ever so much better than her "Never Lie to a Lady".

This tale holds your attention from start to finish. Although it's rather dark, it's never oppressive, and the irrepressible Kemble adds enough levity to balance it all beautifully.

The author has a true talent for visualization and although these characters have damaged souls, she never presents them as weak or cruel. They are very charismatic and appealing.

I loved this book! I think her books are getting better and better. Don't pass this up. It has a good story line with a twist that I didn't see coming towards the end. The sex is steamy but doesn't overshadow the story.

Interesting story, well told. Complicated, flawed, characters - yes, you really do care about what happens to them. I do believe this is one of Ms. Carlyle's best efforts. I look forward to her next book.

Second book of a trilogy. First and third (in order) books are: "Never Lie to a Lady" and "Never Romance a Rake".
I liked this book but for the annoying interchanging of the hero's name. He is Gabriel Gareth Lloyd Ventnor. As a child he was called Gabriel Ventnor and after tragedy befalls he calls himself Gareth Lloyd. The author uses both Gabriel and Gareth in thought and dialogue interchangeable when they should not be interchanged. It started to get annoying but otherwise a decent read.
