An excellent addition to the series. Two strong, independent people learning to love and adapt. Beautifully, realistically, sexily told.

And so the Brown siblings series ends. Out of the 4, I'd have to say this is my second favorite after Brody's book (cause really, how can you top Brody?!) A few flaws but that's what life and love is all about.

I can't imagine being in either of their positions - finding out you have a 13 year old son you never knew about, or letting someone into your son's life who could potentially take him away from you. The angst is definitely there in spades. Both Adrian and Gillian have trust issues and while a few times I wanted to smack them BOTH upside the head, I do understand where they are coming from and the author was very realistic in that respect. Ultimately, they were perfect for each other in all ways, even with flaws, and that's the sign of a good relationship.

I did take issue with a few things in the story though. I thought that they became serious much too fast, especially given the extremely intense nature of the larger picture: their son Miles. I also thought there was a little too much "you've got such a great woman and son" conversation going on with Adrian's family members. It didn't feel genuine. I mean, yes, I'm sure they were happy that Adrian has found his son and found new love but it was the WAY they spoke that felt sickly sweet. The only one who sounded genuine was Brody, and I think a lot of that is due to his being a father figure to Adrian. Also - four months? You can't know someone in four months and want forever, even with love at first sight. You can't expect someone to open up their gut and expose all and sundry (which Adrian did) in such a short amount of time. But most of all - Erin really pissed me off with her reaction during the "big misunderstanding". I felt like she showed her true colors here and since I was on the fence about her before, I'm now firmly in the anti-Erin camp. What she said went overboard, especially given it was a knee jerk reaction without all the facts.

So, overall, 3.5 stars, possibly 3.75. It was good, intense and made me feel strong emotions but I can't say that I loved it.

I love this series. This was such a good book, I hope she finds more to write about.
