Interesting storyline. A young lady poses as a daughter-in-law to a family who has recently lost a son. Now, the son, who isn't really dead, comes back to find her in his house with his family...
Although I liked the story, I did feel like I was waiting... for something? And things just seemed to fall into place - ie. people weren't really mad when they should be. I was drawn to the story and did read it quickly, but I just somehow thought the climax would be more???
Having said that, it's a quick book with an interesting premise.

I was disappointed in this effort by Gayle Callen. I usually like her. The whole story is based on deceit. There are two antagonists working from outside the family and the hero/heroine are deceitful trying to find out how much the other one knows. It wasn't fun or mysterious. It just fell flat and made me uncomfortable. Some people like this kind of story. In retrospect, if it made me feel "something" then it was a good story. I just couldn't finish it.
