This collection of cops & robbers incidents from a long-time crime reporter based in Miami, Florida, is eminently readable, often funny, and sometimes heartbreaking.

Edna Buchanan is one of the only people to win a Pulitzer Prize for crime reporting. Her mystery novels are fun, but her nonfiction books (like this one) are my favorites.
