An excellent read!
I have never read a book that made me cry like this one.

go back in time to the time of the Civil War
From the back cover:
"I will come back for you." Sitting alone in her Vermont farmhouse, Rebecca Gallagher Fraser heard a ghostly voice whisper to her. But not until she stumbled across the same words in a distant ancestor's diary did they hold any meaning for her.
Drawn by inexplicable forces, Rebecca journeyed to the once resplendent Southern plantation where her forebear had loved and lost a Union soldier. And there, on a jasmine-scented New Orleans night, she discovered that passion unfulfilled in one lifetime could defy fate and logic and be reborn so much sweeter in another.

It's been a while since I have read this book. If you like love across time, this is a good read.

I read this one in one day! It made me cry with grief and joy alternately. The best story I've read in quite awhile. Makes you wonder if love really does transcend death. Wonderful read!
