Boring book about nothing much.
Margaret is a 90 year old lonely woman, obnoxious and sarcastic, without any friends.
She spies on a new young neighbor and her young son who just moved in across a pond in her backyard.
The story revolves around the secrets these two women are hiding and what they do to protect them.
How or why I finished this book I'll never know, but the end was just ......nothing...I turned the page but it was over!
Did I say boring?!?!

This book made me want to look for more by this author and there's really no higher praise! A 90 year old nurse and veteran of WWII wants to cultivate a friendship with her new neighbor across the pond, a young single mother with a 4 year old in tow. Each has secrets that she would prefer not to think about (don't we all?) "A promishing exploration of the secrets we all carry and our refusal to forgive ourselves" ~ Publishers Weekly. "Readers who like an unhurried pace, an element of mystery, and plenty of symbolism will be satisfied as Stewart brings her tale to a surprising conclusion." ~ Library Journal.
