Like all MKS books, we have a heroine who is down on her luck. In this case, she is running from the law, and the ubiquitous ex who is not what he originally appeared to be. She lands at a slightly run down motel on the Gulf coast of Florida, inhabited by snow birders. Of course she hits it off with the owner, and butts heads with the owners handsome, single police officer son. As the story unfolds, that relationship changes some. This is a pleasant, easy to read, no complicated storyline book. A relaxing read.

Oh! My heart! I didn't realize I was crying when I read the last pages of this book! Mary Kay Andrews has a way with words. I loved that this took place right down the road from me. I love when books mention places I know! This one had me right from the beginning-and kept me reading like crazy all the way through!!
Strong entry from Andrews featuring a young woman on the run, a small Florida motel peopled by an eccentric population of long-time guests, and a hunky cop (this is Mary Kay Andrews we're talking about, after all). Funniest scene in it is when an elderly guest clocks the bad guy with her walker. (That'll teach him!)
