I really enjoyed this book. It was a lighthearted romance full of friendship and laughter. I found myself smiling and laughing as the characters talk to each other, and events happen. I loved the kids in the book; they were very real to life, and made me think of my own kids. You have romance, a little evil, and a little paranormal. It all works together to bring the characters, and a quaint little town to life. The only problem? The next one won't come out for 6 months!

Nora Roberts is a master. This book is classic N.R. and the story is engrossing. She gives great details on how the renovations of the inn progress (I found out she's renovating an inn herself!) and throws in a ghost story too. Lovely -- I couldn't put it down. One note: if you dislike any violence in your stories, be aware this one has a creepy character who takes an intense interest in the heroine. I didn't mind so much, but those who like straight sweet romances might find this addition disturbing.

What a great start to the triology - haven't read a NR in quite awhile. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

If you like Nora Roberts, you'll enjoy this book. I wasn't crazy about the last "Bride" trilogy, so almost gave up on her books, but I'm glad I gave her another try. The characters are likable, the town it takes place in sounds charming and, as always, there are things that will tug at your heartstrings and other things that will make you chuckle. And a (friendly) ghost to boot... Doesn't get better than that. Looking forward to the next one!
This book is similar in many ways to her other trilogy/family books. The part that I enjoyed is that there really IS a Boonsboro MD; there really IS an Inn Boonsboro, with a Gifts Boonsboro shop and Turn The Page Bookstore. I haven't been there yet, even though I live an hour away. But when I read the book, so many details in it I already knew, just from being in the area. What fun!

Beckett Montgomery has a busy life, working in the family business and restoring an historic inn to its former glory. He doesn't have time for a private life, but wants to make time when he sees Clare Murphy Brewster. Beck had a crush on Clare at the age of fifteen. He's never gotten over her. Clare married her sweetheart and moved away. Now she is back in town, a widow with three rambunctious boys. And, she's right across the street from the inn. Suddenly Beck is volunteering to give Clare a private tour of the inn, even if it cuts into his workday.
This is the first book in The Inn at Boonsboro series. It's a fictional account of the restoration of the real inn that is owned by the author and her family. I found the information about rebuilding and refurbishing the building to be very interesting. It was a very large part of the story, almost a character in itself. There is also a ghost at the inn. I liked how that was handled. It gave the story a light paranormal twist that enhanced the contemporary romance.
The relationship between Beckett and Clare was nice, but not very exciting. There were a few obstacles in their way, but nothing that would really put a halt to a relationship. Clare's boys were a wonderful addition to the book. Their relationship with Beck was a highlight for me. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

Same old, same old.....
Even though you know from the beginning how this storyf will end, the characters are interesting and it is a nice read.
The beginning of a 3-part series, The Next Always is a great read. Roberts builds characters in a believable and loveable way. This book drew me right in and made me want to stop in to visit. Loved it!
While I enjoyed this book and read it very quickly, I felt it wasn't quite upto Ms. Roberts normal level of quality. The characters were good and the premise was good and centering the trilogy around the inn is a neat idea; unfortunately, all of them could have been better.
I liked the book. Well developed characters, snappy dialogue. Few authors write "guy" better than La Nora-and none, in my experience write "kid" better. That said, I couldn't help but feel I'd "been there; done that" with this book.
Trilogy with brothers? See Quinns
Paranormal aspects see Quinns; Ardmore; In the Garden....
Family business-see Quinns
Adorable kids-see In the Garden.....
Fun, easy read-and, yes, I'm looking forward to the next one, but it's not necessarily original stuff from this best selling author.

Another good Nora Roberts trilogy.
Another great trilogy, all three books are excellent. I loved each one.
Another very enjoyable book by Nora Roberts. Am a Nora fan but some books/series are better than others and this is one of the good ones. A great mix of love interest and family along with the "ghost". I really look forward to the next in the series.
I enjoyed this book-Nira Roberts is my favorite author!!
I loved this book! Just loved it!!! The reading was light, the characters were well developed, though the reader could easily figure out what's next. I liked the addition of Lizzy thought found it a little hokey at the end. The only thing I didn't like was the way it ended...kind of abrupt. I feel like there could have been another chapter or 2 to button it up.
Very reminiscent of her Bride Quartet novels.
I live about an hour from the Inn Boonsboro and look forward to going for a weekend!!

I accidently read the second in the series first. It didn't spoil anything. I enjoyed this book just the same. Nora Roberts keeps you reading and dreading to put the book down until it is finished. This is another hit series for her.
What a great start to the trilogy... I enjoyed Beckett and Clare from moment one. The whole family aspect was such that I was sucked in right away and read this in a day and a half. Loved Lizzy's story line and the history.
As with all the Nora Roberts books I have read, I was grabbed into the story from the beginning. This is my favorite kind of story - because when I'm done reading, I feel like I know the characters. And luckily, there are two more books in this series that are just as good! This is a great read about a small town and some of the dynamic people in it. Nora Roberts descriptions of things are so vivid you can see the stuff she is describing. You will enjoy this story.
Good read, as are most of Nora Robert's books! I'm looking forward to Book 2 in the series.
great book love Nora Roberts
Great 3 book trilogy. this was 1st of 3
Nora Roberts is hot and cold for me. This book was luke warm. There was far too much decorating detail in the book. It seemed like filler for the story which was a good premise. I liked all the characters but it felt like it was dragging through decor details.
great book can't wait for the next one
Definitely recommend!
I am a fan of Nora Roberts novels. I have read two of her other trilogies and they never disappoint me. Very romantic and a quick read. I like in her trilogies how she makes each book about a different character. For example, in this novel there are three brothers. So each book is about one brother. The downside I would say to Roberts novels is that they are very predictable. It's basically the same story, but with different characters and a different setting. However, I enjoy them and if you are looking for a quick read and like romance then I definitely recommend this book. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
