I really enjoyed this book. In fact, it's one of those great books that is too good to keep--you WANT to pass it on to someone else bc the book is just so good! The characters are well-written and believable, which is hard to do, imo, for a story involving the death of a young woman. As others have said, I read this book within 2 days, I simply could not put it down. I didn't cry, but I was very moved by June's intentions and her actions in the book. I was also inspired to write my own list!
I highly recommend this book, and this is an author to watch. 4.5 stars out of 5, only bc I wanted to read more of the story. Don't get me wrong, it's a fully completed book; I just didn't want to say goodbye to the characters so soon.
I just read on Jill Smolinski's site that this is going to be a movie!! Being made by the same people who made "The Devil Wears Prada" which I thought was very good, especially if you didn't just read the book.

What a surprising read! I picked it up because I thought the premise sounded interesting, but I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. What a great little book. A heartwarming and touching tale. A bit (with the baby stuff) was a bit over the top for me, but it was still a great piece of fiction. This would be great for reading while at the pool! Really good!

A humorous and heartfelt novel about remembering the important things in life. It reminded me of Bridgett Jones' Diary in the way that the best made plans never work out like they are imagined.

"The next thing on my list" is one of my new favorite books. I couldn't put it down, I just kept routing for June to finish the tasks. A could guess where the end was going to, but there was quite the curve ball thrown in. Great story!

Not many authors can make me laugh on one page then bring me to tears on another page. I'll be reading more of Jill Smolinski. This story was funny, heartbreaking and just plain fun to read.

This is a very inspiring story of June, a lady just like many of us, who just goes with the flow and while she knows that she's not satisfied with the life she has she doesn't really know what she wants and how to get there. The To Do list of a lady who got killed in a car while June was driving changes that. While completing the list for a stranger June learns that she can be an achiever, that she has it in her to start and most importantly finish tough things and when in the end she's gotten what she wanted and is beginning to write a list of her own she surprises even herself with the very first thing on it. This is a very realistic easy read with good deep undercurrents and a bunch of laughs. Highly recommend it.

Good, quick read. Perfect choice for book club. At book club we wore sexy shoes (three dared to go braless), we ate taco soup and ate ice cream in front of each other. We had a drink called "The Flamingo" and coffee with whipped cream (umbrella included, of course). As a finale, everyone submitted an anonymous list of 5 things to do before dying. One person read them aloud and we guessed who the list belonged to. It was a memorable and very fun night. Our only complaint about the book was the lack of morality (casual sex and teenage pregnancy are presented as practically unpreventable) and we all agreed that the premise had more potential. Rumor is it's being made into a movie, so I'm sure our book club will need to go see it together!

I thought this book was great. Quick, easy read. I laughed, cried, smiled and hoped right along with the characters.

This book is good chick-lit. Fun and easy to read, yet still meaningful. After reading it, I was inspired to create my own list.

It is of my personal opinion that this book was not edited properly. It has a great story line and it created some neat activities for my book club. It is not a book on the top of my list to recommend.

A young girl dies before she has had a chance to finish all the goals on her list. The person who feels responsible for the death decides to finish the list in her memory. Compelling story and easy read.

Entertaining Plus More! The characters are extremely likeable, and I was reminded of Janet Evanovich's humor. Smolinski's ability to take serious issues and write a book with humor and compassion was refreshing.I'm searching for her other book, "Flip-Flopped", and awaiting more from this enjoyable author!
This book was a quick and easy read. Good for summer beach book. Overall I enjoyed the interesting twist to a tragic event.
I read this for a book club and I enjoyed it. Other members thought it was a little too simple and predictable for their tastes. It's a light story about a woman coming into her own and finding herself. The plot is very predictable, but I thought it was uplifting and pleasant to read.
I tried but honestly I could not get into this book. I just didn't feel the connection between the main character and the list she was working from. If I hadn't of read how she came to possess the list I would have thought she picked it up as it blew past her on the street. Needless to say this wasn't one of my favorite reads.
Quick read. I can't say the entire story was very believable, but I was inspired to write my own list.
wonderful easy fast read
Easy, Fun Read that gets you thinking about what you may or may not have accomplished in the day to day life we all lead. I read this book the week of New Year's and it was a clean no thinking easy read but got me thinking that since it was the first of the year I should make my own list for the year....A book I would share with friends and I am...
Loved this book! Jill Smolinksi hit the nail on the head with this one. A funny read! If you love chick lit, this book is a must read!
Very good book!! I thought I knew what was going to happen, but boy was I wrong! This book will keep you guessing!
Great story of a woman who wants to complete the list of Marissa, the girl she thinks she killed. Lots of turns and twists and what I believe to be a surprise ending.
Really enjoyed this book! I wasn't sure if I would, but it ended up being great! :)
This was a really cute book and a really fast read. Basically, June is responsible for Marissa's death because of a car accident so she sets out to complete her to do list before her 25th birthday. I recommend this book.
I enjoyed this book so much that it inspired me to make my own 30 before 30 list! It's even more fun to see someone try to complete a stranger's list in this book. I hope they make this one into a movie!
Great book. Read it in 2 days. Had me going through a rollercoaster of emotions -- funny, sad, touching. A definite read! I will definitely read more by this author.
The word that comes to mind is "cute." The character reminds me of a silly, Stephanie Plum type girl or that of the Emily Giffin "Baby" series: kinda clumsy but things end up working out for her around each corner. It kept me interested and did surprise me in the end. I read this as part of a book club and can't say I would read more by this author by choice; only b/c it is not my usual preference. If you do like, kitchy, chick lit, then you will absolutely love this.
I liked this book. It made me laugh out loud a few times, had a lot of unexpected twists and was a great reminder on how every thing you do on a given day can affect someone else's life, whether it's good or bad. This is a great beach or summer read - light but interesting.
Very much loved this novel. Absolutely wonderful time spent with these pages.
I really enjoyed this book. It is a quick read that will have you laughing one minute, and then sad in another. I felt that I could relate with the main character and some of her situations. There is a great message at the end of the book, which so often happens when we set out to conquer a task.
A great read for any female.

Very enjoyable easy read.
I loved the idea of this book. I think nowadays it's pretty common to hear people talk about things they want to do before they die. What if you had to complete someone else's list? That's what this novel is about.
June gives a stranger a ride home and unfortunately gets in a car accident where the passenger dies. She finds the girl's list of things she wants to do by her 25th birthday and June decides to complete the girl's list for her. June finds herself doing things she never thought she would do. From kissing a stranger to seeing Wayne Newton in concert.
This was a great book about self-discovery and living life to the fullest. It has inspired me to go out there and do some of the things on my own list. This book made me laugh and cry. I definitely recommend you read this book!

What a great book. I absolutely loved it!
My tastes in books lean toward the dark and disturbing end of the spectrum. Having said that, every 3rd or 4th book, I just have to read a chick-lit novel to stop the nightmares (kidding-sort of).
I really did enjoy this book. At times it was predictable, but not ter...ribly so. The ending was a surprise for me. It's just one of those leave you feeling good stories. Absolutely recommended for fans of chick lit!
