Strange book, hard to categorize. Perhaps you could call it a paranormal/time travel/bondage book? Ancient Aztec warrior who semi-survived the final battles with the Spanish has spent several centuries in the Aztec equivalent of limbo sees our heroine and thinks she's the one that can connect him and his culture to the future. To do this he keeps dragging her [mentally, or maybe not] into his past. He keeps tying her up and dominating her because that's the way he related to his slave/wife - she has bondage fantasies but wants more of him than just 'master'.

I liked the resolution, but it took a long time to get there. A read-once.

Well, I honestly have to say that I hated this book. It was very difficult to get into.
Mazati is an ancient being who has come to life & wants Haley to be .... aaahhh, @#$% it.
It was so weird and disjointed that I tried to speed read it, so I could at least get the gist of the story, but even that was in vain. I usually enjoy this author, but this story just plain sucked.

Im a fan of Vonna Harper. This was the first I read that she had spent a lot of time on the story line. There was some strange time travel and alot of Aztec history. Towards the end I wasnt sure how she was going to tie the bondage in, but she did. I think she left it open to another book about her sister. Pretty good.

I've read other books by Vonna Harper and liked them, but I didn't care for this one. This book was difficult to read. I kept hoping it would get better and it didn't. Oh well.
