By the author of the acclaimed Amelia Peabody, Egyptologist series, this book shows a bit of the complexity of those stories. It isn't a formula 'girl meets boy, girl loses boy, girl gets boy back.' You'll suspect Who-dunnit, but change your mind several times before the mystery unravels at the end.

interesting details about cultures in Mexico. The usual Peters romp. Fun, but not as good as her Amelia Peabody mysteries.

Elizabeth Peters is know for her "Amelia Peabody" books, but her stand alone's are just as good.
