This is the first book in Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish this book. During the first 150 pages, I kept thinking that if I have to read the descriptions of Kyrian's "luscious body" one more time, I was going to barf! It was just waaaay to heavy on the romance for my taste! But since this book is the first of a very popular paranormal series, I wanted to at least be able to reserve my judgement until after I've read the first book in its entirety.
With that commitment made, I plodded on, often putting the book down for a longer length of time than usual and not wanting to pick it back up, seriously considering starting on something else instead. I guess it was finally around halfway through that it started to get a little more interesting. I don't know if the author got sick of going on for 2 pages describing Kyrian's 6 pack, or if I just got used to it, but any of that overly-descriptive gushing seemed to become slightly less at any rate, and I was able to enjoy the rest of the story somewhat.
Other reviewers talked about the sex scenes, and though there were plenty, they were kind of blah, not graphic enough for my liking. I think the author was afraid to use words like p3nis or pu55y, and instead used all kinds of flowery terms instead. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this, but if you're trying to write like erotica, then just do it, don't pussy-foot around! (Pun intended *grin*) Otherwise, if it's not erotica, as this book really isn't, then keep the sex scenes toned down a bit.

It was entertaining in a "brain-candy" kind of way. I enjoyed purely as entertainment and a break from daily life. Besides, who doesn't want to a hot greek vampire for one night?? Enjoy!

Reminded me of Feehan's Carpathian books but better written. I loved the characters.
Excellent!
Anoter great Dark-Hunter book!!! This is the story of Kyrian of Thrace and Amanda Devereaux.
First book by Sherrilyn Kenyon and it didn't disappoint. I liked both of the main characters, they complimented each other well. Good mix of action, romance, plot, and mythology. Will definitely be reading more.
Great book I love Kenyon

Loved!!!
Kyrian, a dark-hunter, meets Amanda, a girl who only wants a normal life with a normal man. But, he's so very handsome ---
Kyrian of Thrace--immortal vampire hunter; incredibly wealthy and powerful--awakes to find himself handcuffed to Amanda Devereaux, a more strait-laced woman he had never met in the thousands of years he has been alive. Can the two live together?
Good book, well written, characters are well developed.
This was my first Dark-Hunter novel, but it won't be my last.
A great book I couldn't put it down or stop laughing!!!
Good read.
Loved this book!
We briefly met Kyrian of Thrace in Fantasy Lover. In this story he is a Dark-Hunter that goes after the really bad guys. He has traded his soul to seek vengence on his wife, but unable to kill her he now walks the world in the shadows of night. Amanda has powers that she is unaware of or unwilling to admit too. She does not believe in the supernatural, or dark things. These two unlikely people get paired together in a very unlikely situation. As a result there are laughs aplenty, great romance, and a lot of the supernatural! Hunter does not give his trust easily, and Amanda is not even aware of her appeal.
You will not be let down by this fast page turning read. Plenty of the trademark sensuality and humor that is Sherrilyn Kenyon can be found in this book.
