This book comes from my fav author, Ruby Jean Jensen. I always have high expectations from her, as a horror book lover. She passed away in 2010 and I loathe the fact that there will no longer be any more books from her.
In this book, Night Thunder, I found myself feeling a bit bored at first, then reading intently, daring myself to look away, I couldn't stop reading, then towards the mid to early end, I was pulling out my hair, and at the very end, I sat with my mouth hanging open, disgusted and torn lol. One of the characters "Holly" a child in the book drove me nuts. I was asking, "Why cant you tell an adult whats happening, why are you lying to people, why are you protecting this person and on and on, questions abound. I found myself talking out loud to the character.."What are you doing" Why are you doing that?" lol I think that's exactly what Ruby Jean Jensen wanted from us, the readers. I give this a 5 stars, its a horror lovers dream. Dont miss this one, especially if you love this author!!

the dead are never quiet... as long as the tree lives, the dead stay buried...
not a bad book has its moments that keep you on the edge of your seat
Dawn 1865. As Civil War rages across the land, an 11 year old boy awakens to the sound of thunderous drumbeats. 4 days later, his moom is dead, and a strange cult of religious wanders have been brutally murdered by the terrified local farmers.
1995. Bulldozers destroy the tranquil farmland, and the old sycamore tree. In the darkness, faces glow with soulless light as an unspeakable evil rises from slumber. The sound of drumbeats is growing louder...and closer.
