Excellent writing. Recommend this one. Very good read.
Read Night some time ago. Found this edition and I read Dawn and Day. Night, published in 1958, is a story about an adolescent boy and his father struggling to survive in Auschwitz. In his talks with God he searches for a way to understand what happens to the people he sees.
Dawn (1960) is about a young man who survives WWII and settles in Palestine where he joins a Jewish underground movement. When he must execute a British officer taken as a hostage the experience haunts him day after day.
Day finds the author creating a character obsessed with death who involved in a serious accident with a taxi. The three focus on the question: "Can the memories let a Holocaust survivor create a new life?"
