A good serial killer police thriller, with a somewhat surprising ending.
I really enjoyed the book.

This book was so good, as soon as I finished reading it I hopped on Amazon to order more by John Lutz. It was a great thriller that kept me glued to the pages.

Very good book. I couldn't put it down. Who done it, and where are they headed next. Great rainy day book.

Someone is killing weathly Manhattanites. One by one the victims are discovered in luxurious high rise apartments-bound, gagged, and brutally murdered in the 'safety' of their homes. As NYPD Detectives Ben Stack and Rica Lopez investigate the cruel deaths, they have no idea that they are being watched from the shadows.

Someone is killing wealthy Manhattanites. One by one, the victims are discovered in luxuriour high-rise apartments - bound, gagged, brutall murdered in the 'safety' of their own homes. The killer's modus operandi is as horrifying as anything NYPD Detectives Ben Stack and Rica Lopez have ever seen.

As Stack and Lopez investigate the cruel deaths, they have no idea they are being watched from the shadows, observed by a cunning murderer picking up all the clues necessary to stay one step ahead of the police while perfecting a deadly craft.

Story deals with an arsonist and it might take you til nearly the end of the book before you figure it out or you might not figure it out at all!

This was a really good read, although it did take me a bit to get into it. This mostly could've been because I was sitting in a juror's lounge waiting to see if my name was going to get called for me to get a chance to serve as a juror. (No such luck though.)

Even though I felt it started slow, about half-way through when I could sit and read at my leisure, it really seemed to pick up and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next in the story with trying to figure out who the killer was. I had a couple of ideas but kept going back and forth between who I thought who did it.

I think the only thing I found annoying was the relationship between Rica and Stack. She hard-core flirts with him, which to me is a bit unprofessional (I'm reading this book for the suspense after all, not the romance!), and for awhile, it seems like he's actually uncomfortable with it (until his stereotypical manliness kicks in of course).

But, overall, it really is a great read and I'm going to definitely be reading more by this author in the future!
