I used to be a fan of Amanda Ashley. While this book was not quite as bad as the preceding one (Night's Master), it was almost as bad. It was a complete waste of my time. I don't recommend it. I have two more of her books in my TBR, not sure if I can even bring myself to start them. If you want to try her books I recommend you try one of her first 5 or 6 books and skip all the Night ones.

The story is interesting, unfortunately, the love scenes are not. There is very little tension. The formatting of the chapters was a bit annoying, some lasting only two paragraphs.

While I have enjoyed most of this series this book was a dud for me. I liked the hero, Rane but the heroine, Savanah, was a weak character and I ended up thinking he could have done better. I hope this was a one off dud for this series and future books are better.

Vampire hunter, Savannah Gentry, falls in love with a shape-shifter magician who she later finds out is a vampire. Savannah is coming to terms with this when her father is killed by a vampire/werewolf team. Chaos ensues and the chase is on to find and terminate a killer.
I really liked Rane and Savannah. What a great love story. I guess love really does conquer all.

2.5 stars, the extra half for some hot sex scenes. The story was thin for me and I was so tired of reading of her/his same thoughts over and over. Was hoping the vampire as a magician would add a little more fun to the plot.
