I was interested in reading this book because it takes place in Sarasota, Florida where I am from. It was fun reading a book set on Siesta Key and at Ca'D Zan and other SRQ locations. But then I became so caught up in this thriller, that I couldnt put it down. It was a real page turner! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a thrilling, fast read and a good mystery.

Cassie Sheridan has all a news reporter could want with a skyrockering career in Washington, DC. But she makes a critical mistake and now her career is in shambles. She is transferred to Miami, separated from her family and friends, and the power of Washington. While covering a hurricane that is moving up the coast of Florida, she meets eleven-year-old Vincent who has made a grisly discovery on the beach. It takes Cassie a week to make the connection of Vincent's discovery and a secret operation, a story that has national significance and maybe, just maybe help her put her life back together.
This book was like the books that you read as an adolescent where you could pick your own mystery yet you couldn't do that. It fluctuated so quickly as to who could have been the killer/rapist. Eerytime you thought you had it the author would give you another option. that being said, there was absolutely no wrap up at the end. All of these suspects given where just left to risk the hurricane. Even the outcome of the hurricane was given. It was a really good story, but it left you hanging. For those readers who enjoy the story being complete at the end, this is not for you. It is a fast read and a really good story up until the wrap up which is missing.

Its been a long time since I read this book so I don't really remember much. It was a typical mystery quick read. It is similar to Mary Higgins Clark books.
This is suspense through out the book.

A mystery/romance about a female TV news reporter.
So-so thriller about a disgraced television reporter whose coverage of an impending Florida hurricane gets tangled up with a series of murders and one young boy who holds the key to the solution.
Washington correspondent Cassie Sheridan is on her way to the top with an evening New York based show on the horizon until her career derails. Cassie reported that a serial rapist raped the daughter of the FBI Director. The teenage girl already struggling to cope kills herself when Cassie reveals her exclusive on national TV. Her station exiles Cassie to the Miami Bureau until her contract ends and her career with it.
Her husband and daughter sick of her ambition refuse to talk to her adding to her feelings of isolation. Now she is reporting on a coming hurricane when preadolescent Vincent Baylor finds a human hand with a ring on it on the beach. Vincent takes the ring with plans to pawn it knowing his desperate family could use the cash. However, the killer needs that ring and will murder to obtain it. Cassie and Vincent team up in an attempt to identify the culprit, but neither realize they are in the eye of a murderous human hurricane.
NOBODY KNOWS is fast-paced and gripping as the suspense builds up while readers wonder if Cassie will overstep her bounds again and what the killer will do. The crisp story line will grab the audience in spite of the Ferris Bueller-like pontificating. The support cast is somewhat stereotyped but likable as the families of Vincent and Cassie are used to evoke emotion from fans and to provide further insight into the lead characters. Though Mary Jane Clark has written a fine novel, the bottom line is Cassie is not likable and this is her tale.

A slower read for me than most Mary Jane Clark books.. But still liked it!

I can honestly say that I don't know what this book is about, I read it that long ago. I think is was ok,but clearly it didn't have an awe inspiring story behind it or I would have remebered what it was about:)

Murder and mystery. Considering that the author is the ex daughter in law of Mary Higgins Clark, Mary Jane writes in the same style.
