A critical care nurse finds herself on the other side of medicine following an auto accident.
A trauma nurse in the ICU as a patient strangles a nurse who is treating her roughly. Or did she. Others are dying and a serial killer is loose in the hospital. Lots of action and a real page turner.
Kate Manion is your average burned-out critical care nurse. Kate admits that she's a dinosaur, since in an age when medicine means big money, she still battles to put patient care first. Injured in an accidcent, Kate wakes up in the ICU in the worst possible place--the hospital where she works, dubbed "St. Serious Money". That's bad enough, but then her very own nurse, Attila the Buns, falls over dead with Kate's hands wrapped around her throat. It's no laughing matter. A serial killer is stalking the hospital staff, and one of Kate's friends may be the murderer.
A great read--with a dry wit well-executed
Good medical mystery
This hospital mystery was a little slow to start, but once the story got underway, I liked it quite a bit! The plot had several twists and turns - I certainly was not able to predict "whodunit"! It was a fun read and I think I will definitely enjoy reading other books by this author!
a serial killer is loose in the hospital but it is nothing peronal
I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially to all other nurses out there who can appreciate what it's really like in the front lines of health care today. The story is good, and it keeps you guessing. If you don't have any medical background, you will still love this book. The characters are strong, especially the title character Kate Manion.
