The common premise of a widow falsely accused of less than lady-like reputation done with a unique perspective from the hero. I usually come across many rakes when I read regency romances -- Rockhurst, however, is an upstanding regency lord with a great deal of stock in justice. In this case he made if very easy for me to live without the rake, reformed or otherwise. The author planted the injustices against the Catherine, her family, and basically the whole community that I was eager for the villian to be found guilty. The only problem I had with the novel is that there was not enough romance or build of romance. I was left with the feeling that something was missing, though I was satisfied with the villian's punishment.

Regency romance by Allison Lane. From back cover: The Earl of Rockhurst is attracted to the scandalous Catherine Parrish, but discovers her tarnished reputation is due to a scoundrel determined to tarnish her good name. Rockhurst feels compelled to intervene on her behalf before more vicious lies can be spread. But can he rekindle love in her lonely heart?
