I love reading Angela Hunt. Her books always center around issues that we don't often talk about enough. This book deals with gambling and mental illness (bi-polar). The main character is a writer/author so you also get some great writing tips sprinkled throughout the storyline. LOTS going on in this novel; actually, a novel within a novel. One of the few novels that I've wanted to read with a highlighter in my hand.

I really enjoyed this book. Hunt steps outside the typical plot line and offers a plot that demands to be remembered. I read the book in short order. I enjoyed every page.

Really strong Christian themes so if biblical stories don't resonate with you, you will have trouble relating to this book.

If you are raising teen to early 20's children this book may hit home! It is a unique story in a story that really helped me to feel I am not alone in this child rearing process and that God is still in control! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

This book was very different than any I've read before. It includes a story within the story. The first is reality and the second is created.

I had trouble getting through this book. The subplot really didn't interest me.

This is a "book within a book." The main character, an author, is challenged while teaching a writing class to write something outside her comfort zone. She decides to write a novella that will speak to her troubled son about the bad choices he has made in life. While she is busy writing, her son's life begins to completely unravel. Will her novel help her son? Read the book & find out.
