This is a fun little mystery and good for a light, quick read. It reminded me of Nancy Drew if she had grown up to be a nun.

This is a hilarious book. The nuns are soooooooo funny.
Sister John and Sister Hyachithe are sent to a old house that is left to the Abby. This house is huge and old and has a surprise in the attic. Then there is a old suitcase in the bottom of a well....
And about that "sugar" in the pantry.. it has a great feeling to it...
The nuns encounter hippies, gangsters...posing as religious artifacts sellers...
OMG this is funny.

From the moment Sister John and Sister Hyacinthe reach the old house left to their abbey by a mysterious benefactor, their cloistered world begins to crumble. First, there is the wounded man hiding in the house, then the suitcase stuffed with money sitting at the bottom of the well, not to mention fearful apparitions in the night. Lord only knows what's going on. That is, until the good sisters, armed only with their faith and boundless energy, set things right--even if it means a shocking revelation or two about ghosts, gangsters...and murder

I ordered this book because it was written by Dorothy Gilman and I love this author. It is a cute little cozy, a quick read that is fun to read. I loved the strong character of Sister John, and Sister Hyacinthe who are sent by their mother house to look into a property the cloister inherited....there begins the fun, mystery and action... Great little book. I recommend

Very readable, very enjoyable, very quick to read. Love the nuns and the hippies. Even the mafia is somewhat lovable. It's a must read if you need something lighthearted.

Ms. Gilman wrote the Mrs. Pollifax series; a wonderful collection of stories about an elderly woman, her garden club and her secret life in the CIA. A Nun in the Closet doesn't feature Mrs. Pollifax but it's a charming book that tells a wonderful story with great humor. A delightful read!

Two nuns from The Abbey set out to explore a huge house left to the Abbey by a mysterious benefactor. They find a wounded man in a closet, they discover a fortune stuffed in an old suitcase, and white powder in sugar jars in the pantry. This book is very funny, charming and a great read.

From the moment sister John and Sister Hyacinthe set out to explore the huge old house that was left to their abby by a mysterious someone, their cloistered world begins to crumble. They come across the wounded man in the upstairs closet...then there is the old battered suitcase stuffed with money at the bottom of the well..and lets not forget the apparitions in the night or the white powder they find in the sugar canister that doesn't taste like sugar at all.....

I picked this book thinking it was a mystery; it was not.
It was a silly story. Very boring.
