Anastasia L. (Anastasiak) reviewed Occupation: The Ordeal of France, 1940 - 1944 on + 3 more book reviews
Very well written with a great explanation of why France allowed itself to be occupied and what life was like under the occupation. It did, however, fall short in its discussion of how the Vichy government fell and how the French dealt with those they considered collaborationists (for example, the women whose heads were shaved, the trials of Vichy officials, etc.)
