I got home at 2am yesterday. Picked up Meggie at the kennel, unpacked. Its so good to be home!  I gained 5 pounds, no surprise. I'll get back on track and lose it before my nephrologist appointment Nov 19.  I did come home with a sore throat thanks to thw dryness and sleeping with my mouth open thanks to blocked sinuses. I'm working hard on symptoms to keep it from turning into something worse.  i do steam treatments which help a lot.

I'm ending the month at 240.2  so up 1 lb for the month. Hoping to be a little down in the morning to start off Nov. but I'll see what happens.

Teri, I'm sure you'll relose the 5 lbs in no time. I do hope the sore throat gets better fast.

 

I will be setting up the Nov. chatroom a little later today.

I'm ending October down about a lbs. I'm at 140.4.

On to November... and being very careful now that it's holiday season. My goal in November is to just not gain.

You can do it.

I've made some changes to my food choices starting tomorrow. For one thing, I threw out all the bread I had in the apt. For the rest of 2024 the only time I plan to have any kind of bread is if I go to Subway and order a sub of some kind. If I don't buy bread, I can't eat it. So no more sandwiches any time soon. I'm thinking I'm mainly going to be eating a lot of tuna and rice or those single serve completes , at least for the next 2 weeks until my SS# gets here.  I'm finding that the less food I have in the apt., the better off I am. Normally I buy all my groceries once a month then just pick up a few odds and ends if I run out of something or want something different. But in November I'm going to just start buying a few things weekly. That way food choices won't get boring since I'll be able to try different things. I've got to work out a weekly food budget but I've got time since it'll be 2 weeks before I get my SS#. Until then I make do with what I have. That means a lot of rice, tuna, completes, and dry beans. Maybe I'll actually lose some weight in November.  You know the saying about doing the same thing over and over but then hoping for a different outcome. Well, that's been me for too long. So I'm going to make some big changes in what I eat, once I can buy groceries again. I'll see how it goes in November.

There was a gym offering a 21 day challenge, so I went for the consultation today. Ok, turns out only the consultation is free, and I can't afford the actual trainer. But, I set it up so I drove to the mall, took a bus as close as I could get, and then walked to the gym, about 20 minutes, so at least I got my walk in!

from there, just a block to get to a different bus to go downtown, where I went to the bank I didn't realize was there till last week.

i am so happy that we get a new month. I really want to concentrate on activity habits.
