If you're a Beverly Lewis fan and have read her Lancaster County books this is a great way to revisit some of those characters and find out what's new in their lives. If you've not read those books, then this can be a great way to be introduced to them. I especially enjoyed reading about the characters from the Redemption of Sarah Cain!
It's a family reunion of sorts in Lewis's newest offering, a story collection in three parts to update her devotees on the progress of the Amish and "fancy Englischer" characters in her previous novels, all held together by the common thread of their Pennsylvania Dutch country setting. "Hickory Hollow" describes Katie and Daniel's wedded bliss (The Heritage of Lancaster County series) and Katie's overtures toward her family and church friends, who have shunned her. We find the characters from The Postcard, Rachel and her husband, Philip (a former "fancy Englischer"), settled into family life in Bird-in-Hand. Philip struggles to gain acceptance from his Amish peers as he helps to fight a fire and tries his hand at a barn raising. In "Grasshopper," we are brought up to speed on Lydia's courtship by Levi (from The Redemption of Sarah Cain).

This book is not part of a series but it does tie up loose ends from the 3 book series "The Heritage of Lancaster Country", the 2 book series, "The Postcard" and "The Crossroad" and the book "The Redemption of Sarah Cain." I found it to be a quick and enjoyable read.

Lewis returns to Lancaster County with a collection of short stories that revisit characters from The Shunning, The Postcard, and other titles in the "Lancaster County Books" series. As she catches readers up on the lives of Katie and Dan, Bishop John and Mary, Rachel and Philip, Sarah Cain, and many more, Lewis shows the diversity of Christian beliefs in this community and the effect that choosing to follow God has had on the families divided by different beliefs. These vignettes of the Amish and the English (as the Amish call the non-Amish) will find a welcome home in all collections with a strong Lewis readership.
I only read this for the part that is continued from The Redemption of Sarah Cain. It is as well written just like the original story, but it doesn't continue as much as fans of the story might hope. I like the continuation overall but just wish it would continue even more. It is a fairly short continuation of the story because the whole book wraps up loose ends from three different stories and there is not a ton from each story. It is divided into actual different sections that each continue one story, so you are not guessing at which part continues what story. Overall a good book, though I did not read the whole thing.
This book is a "what happened to them" style, using some of her previous book's fav characters, The Shunning and The Redemption Of Sarah Cain.
I enjoyed the book and it was an easy read, well written.

A great reunion book that completes the Lancaster County series. Must read.
While it was nice to have three of her previous story lines updated, I still was left wanting more and feeling as if the story was left hanging!
Another great read by Beverly Lewis. It has chapters that catch you up with wat's going on with all the other characters in her other books.
Another great story from Beverly Lewis... Always hard to put one of her books down once you start reading about the personal lives of the Amish.
Great book about characters from her earlier books.
Well worth the time invested in reading!
I loved this book! It was a great conclusion to many of of Lewis's other books.
Anything by Beverly Lewis is great.
