I absolutely loved this book. It helped a great deal relieving stress I was feeling about giving birth to our daughter. Looks at pregnancy and birth as a natural process, go figure!!! Not as far out there as the Bradley method, but still has the feel that the woman's body was made to give birth and that the body instinctually know what to do.

I am a doula and childbirth educator, and while I don't teach the Lamaze Method, I have found this to be a great resource both as a professional and for my clients. It is clear, concise and gives information about alternatives as well as the standard interventions used as a matter of protocol in hospitals today. Although I also like (and use as a text in my classes) Kitzinger's "Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth," I have decided to use this one in my classes as well, as it has a fresh approach and very up-to-date information. I also think it would be good for younger moms. A great read, a very good resource.
