Second in a series. I remember liking the first but it's been a long time, so I don't remember anything more about it. Simonson kind of dumps you into this one as though you should already know the characters and their actions so far, but it's easy to let that go. Good setting, I could imagine the scenery of the Columbia River and the situations very clearly. Good believable characters, good pacing, and good dialogue. I guessed the villain; possibly at that point Simonson wants the reader to know whodunit as it just jumped out at me. Looks like there are two more in the series, and I will look for them.
