Teen paranormal romance. Kate is a witch: she has small powers which she does not practice on others. One day a new boy named Jarrod comes to her small town and Kate immediately knows that he has powers of his own, though he does not know it. Jarrod seems very accident prone and cowardly though Kate has hopes that he has hidden strength beneath this exterior. Kate discovers that Jarrod's power is actually very strong - he can cause earthquakes and freak storms without realizing he's the one doing it, and the reason for this is a frightening one. Some aspects of time travel are involved as well. I would say an enjoyable read but some suspension of belief is required (that comment isn't so much about the magic as other aspects of this book).

This book is about a girl who is an outkast at her high school. She lives with her grandmother in the woods away from everyone else. One day a new guy comes to school. He is a very clumsy kid and one day during class something weird happened. The incident took the girls attention and she befriened the boy. They end up going on a magical journey together. It is one of my most favorite books. If you really like magical stuff you will like this book!

Interesting take on magik and for once a young girl's fascination isn't a horse or a vampire!
This Aussie teen romance contains a heavy dose of magik/witchcraft and yet makes a fast entertaining read. It gets kinda bogged down in a time travel bit that reads like a different novel but overall it's enjoyable light entertainment.

I was really in the mood to read about witchcraft and magic, so I chose this book from my shelf were it had been sitting for a while. I have read a few of Ms. Curley's other books in the past. This book was OK, it wasn't anything amazing. The magic part of the book was rather lacking, not too much happened there. When you are reading a book that doesn't specify right away where it is located, where the story takes place, you make your own assumptions. Then it can be disappointing to learn it isn't set where you thought. This book does that to you. It also seemed to really jump around a lot within the story, and she lost me several times in paragraphs because I didn't know what she was talking about. Overall, it was ok.
