I absolutely loved this book. Was immediately drawn into it and read half of it the first night, finishing it the next day. If you like stories set back in time, you'll enjoy this. There were quite a few times when I laughed out loud at things the main character, Tess, would say or do when she first arrived at her final destination. Kristin Hannah is an excellent writer and easily pulls the reader into her stories.

Tess is a woman who has been given a miraculous second chance at life. Jack is a man who abandoned hope long ago. Imprisoned by savage memories, he believes he has nothing to offer anyone, especially a woman like Tess, who dares to ask for the impossible...his love.

I found it interesting that this book has a basis in fact. Some of the events actually happened in Washington state history. Good story.

Really good book. The storyline was different in that it was both a time travel and the heroine assumed another woman's life. Both the Hero and heroine could have been tragic characters but came across as just as humans who need love.

Very interesting story - different for a Hannah book.

1873 A man prone to blackouts and violence. 1993 a young woman killed in an accident. She is given a second chance at life. And replaces Jackson's wife in 1873 when she dies during child birth. Good story.

Great author. Hannah weaves a very good story. She makes this one seem almost believable, you hope it could be true. Her writting makes you feel like you're there in the story.
This book was well written and I loved the story. What a fun read and I didn't want to put it down.
I thought I would be more thrilled with this book.. and in the beginning I was totally wrapped up in the story. However, about mid-way through, this book turned from original idea to traditional historical romance. It was a quick read.
Love Kritin Hannah. A great story about love being forever.
The story line of this book couldn't move any slower if you stopped reading it all together. Ugh. I was so disappointed, too! I started out great and then just got stuck in the day-to-day details that just drag out so s-l-o-wl-y.
I have enjoyed all of Kristin Hannah's books and this one did not disappoint. This was different from her other books; interesting story and definitely worth reading.
Absolutely wonderful. Kept me entralled from page 1.
Excellent read - very intriguing concept about a young deaf woman who dies and is placed in another woman's body in 1873. Beautiful story...
Another winner from Kristin Hannah!
I really liked this book!!
