This book left me grinning! Excellent ending! I can't wait to read the next one!
This wasn't quite as instantly hook-y as Enchanted, Inc., probably because there was a little less emphasis on cute & quirky magical stuff, but it didn't take long to reel me in once I finally got a moment to actually sit down and read it! It's so much fun to think about this little world. New York would be about a thousand times more interesting if there was a chance of running into a living garden gnome in Central Park, that's for sure!
If my owl takes much longer to show up with my invitation to Hogwarts, then maybe I should go apply for a position at MSI. An administrative assistant job there somehow sounds like a dream job!

Once Upon Stilettos is the second book in the Katie Chandler series by Shanna Swendson. Book 2 continues where book 1 left off - the company is still dealing with the same villian - an underhanded ex-employee bent on sabotage. Katie is tasked to discover the identity of a suspected spy in MDI's midst, while dealing with her own relationship issues. As with book 1 I found the series charming and light, but I'm beginning to want some more depth to some of the periphery characters other than Katie and a few main players. The villains are cartoonish, and while there are some darker parts to this book, for the most part things are kept fun and light. Which is fine if that's what you are in the mood for. Probably the best part of this book was the developing romance. I think that it was more fully featured here than in the first book. I found the ending satisfying and a good stopping point. While there is a wide opening for the series to continue, we aren't left with a cliffhanger.

I love this series! This book was even better than the first. It is a fun, romantic, mystery. I put it right up there with Harris' Stookie Stackhouse series minus the sex!

Unfortunately the description for the 3rd book in this series contained spoilers for this book, which was disappointing as I was only half way through this book when a huge plot point was given away. DO NOT READ THE SUMMARY FOR BOOK 3 UNTIL YOU FINISH THIS BOOK!
That being said, this book was cute, the characters are enjoyable and the plot moves along quickly. Sometimes all the magic talk can get a little confusing but if you just suspend your disbelief and go with it, you will probably find this to be a fun, quick read.

A great, fun read. Katie works for a company dealing in spells and magic, even though she has none of her own. She is able to see through deception, but is not so good at seeing her heart. Now she is working side by side with the man of her dreams while caight up in more intrique than she bargained for.

Nice Sequal. Fun, quirky, intersting take on magic. Katie our main character is just the girl next door type but very likable. Supporting cast really add to the book. Look forward to reading the 3rd book.

Love this 2nd book in the series. For awhile poor miss Katie lost her "normal" powers, has to find a company spy, has to entertain her parents when they come to visit (their first trip to New York City), has to play secret santa to someone special without getting caught, and just can't seem to resist those special red shoes! Oh what's a girl to do? This series is light, airy, full of laughs, and is just an all around good light hearted read. Love it!

Just like the first book this was a fun quick read. There is nothing heavy or deap about this book. If you want somthing that light and not complicated this is a great series.
Wonderful fun charming story!
Enjoyed the first book so I had to read this one -- the second in the series - and it was just as good! Still fighting the same fight but life unravels a little differently and with some more excitement. Looking forward to the next one! This is a "keeper" book on my shelf!

2nd book in her Katie Chandler series. I love the slow romance of her and Owen-- none of these lets get married at the end of the first book. I keep falling in love with this author and characters. Please keep on writing.
Just as fun as the first book! Can't wait for the next installment.

This one is as great as the first one. Love it
Fun sequel, maybe not quite as enchanting (couldn't help it) as the first, but still very enjoyable. Nice how she tweaked the whole Cinderella shoe thing.
Didn't love it. It's the second in the series and I've read all three available. I can't say any of them were great. The stories developed very slowly, the main character Katie is simplistic, and none of the characters are dimensional or interesting. It's a cute story and very readable but just not very good.
