A comforting, lovely Christian fiction read. Josh, a 12 YO orphan, being raised by his grandfather, uncle and a young aunt on a busy farm. Coming of age story - Josh is happy with the way his life is. He lost his parents to an accident when he was very young and has no memories of them. Now his grandfather and uncle are trying to find a husband for his aunt which threatens his world. Very comforting read.
1st of 4 books, I sort of enjoyed it, I almost got over my disdain of books that don't set you in a certain time and place. i almost got over reading an author that doesn't add a -g to -ing words.
Wonderful, heartwarming start to this series seen through the eyes of a young boy who's had to handle far too much in his young life and doesn't want more change.
A very uplifting book with rich characters, Christian faith, and a happy ending that helps us all remember that sometimes the change we fear can be better than we ever dreamed.
