Very clever and sweet story. A romance with no sex, so it is apporpriate for a younger girl. It is the story of a Princess who "sacrificed" to a dragon and must then save not only herself but her realm -- complete with wicked step-mothers and fairy godmothers.

Great fun in this offbeat fantasy, where neither the dragon, the princess, nor the hero are quite what you might expect. (Part of the Five Hundred Kingdoms series)

I really liked this book! It has a strong female lead and a lot of humor thrown in the mix to balance things out. I highly recommend this one!!!

This was a little slow in parts (during the quest) but a very good story nonetheless. I really enjoyed the romance between Princess Andie and Periat, the dragon. Now I just have to get my hands on book 3 - [book:Fortune's Fool|13981].

A great read about Traditions (such as a knight in shining armor on a white horse rescuing the princess, fairy godmothers, dragons and the like. Cute and funny with a touch of romance thrown in the mix.

From the back cover:
When a dragon storms the castle, what should a (virgin) princess do? Why turn to her studies, of course! But nothing practical-minded Princess Andromeda of Acadia finds gives a definitive solution. The only Traditional anser, though is soothing the marauding dragon by a virgin sacrifice. Things are going fairly smoothly with the lottery--except for teh women chosen, of course--until Princess Andromeda herself it picked!
--Liked "The Fairy Godmother," the first "Tale of the Five Hundred Kingdoms" better, but this was good too. The Tradition concept is fun. -

A fun little novel with lots of grrl power. And thar be dragons.
One Good Knight is a fantasy by Mercedes Lackey; she has a fresh take on old legends and thoughts. Note: there is a small pen mark to correct a typo (from "I" to "she") on page 10. Brand-new and in fantastic condition otherwise.
