Based on "random acts of kindness" Nathan will carry 7 stones in his pocket and move one rock from one pocket to the other after he accomplishes a good deed. Mind you, it could be a small deed as letting someone go ahead of you in line at the market if they have fewer items than you do. The idea is a good one leading us to forget how people do not take the time to practice kindness, and patience with others.
Unfortunately during one of Nathan's random acts of kindness in helping someone out of a car during a rainy night, he ends up getting killed in the process. Left behind is his wife and two kids and upon reading on Facebook, the man who does "one good thing", people share their personal encounters with Nathan and how he has helped them. One woman comes forward and shares that he saved her life in 3rd grade, and how he saved it many times, but in message makes it sound as if they had a relationship. Further investigating Nathan's wife reads through his emails and finds out that this woman has a child from Nathan. How can someone who has such a good heart lie about such a huge matter to his very own wife and family? As always, in Milne's style of writing things are not always what they appear to be and without ruining the whole story, it was very worthwhile to read. You are left believing in the good of people and thankful to all those people who have done good deeds for me.
