I had never read anything by Jordan Dane before and I can say I have a new favorite author. This is a great crime novel with a female detective, Rebecca Montgomery. Rebecca's sister had gone missing and Rebecca was not permitted to work the case. While she was working a cold case, a body of a young woman is found in the wall of an old theater. Rebecca follows a well dressed man from the sceine to a coffee shop and the romantic electricity sparks between them. The story proceeds with many twist and turns. It is a mystery romance page turner and worth reading.

Just an ok read. I managed to make it through but---the storyline is an old rehashed theme, the romance is nothing special(I don't consider 3 pages of a sexual encounter necessary), if you are a speed reader it will help get you through page after page of description and I just skimmed pages to get on with the main story--the first half of the book is rather slow and seems to take a long time to finally get it moving--I don't consider it an 'on the edge' thriller/suspense--it's just a cop/FBI mystery with all the players in place.

This is the first book I have read by this author. Her style of writing is not something I found overly enjoying. First, I am not impressed by adding clarity to what is going one by having characters speak aloud to themselves. Secondly this renegade cop with a compassionate and risk taking side was very unbelievable as was the storyline (I will not give anything away...trust me) And thirdly it is wrapped up a little too neatly, when sending this book out, I should wrap it in a bow! That being said, I did not abandon the book as I have others, I read it in two days but just didn't feel the thrill and excitment of a good mystery.
