The child in this book will win your heart and the stepmother will rip it right out. This young man endured so much from such an early age and yet he was not bitter but he tryed to please his family and his teachers. He reached out to be loved and got nothing in return. This is an excellent read of a true story of child abuse and how real it is right in our own little towns. Very informative!

The following review was taken from Amazon...Reviewer: LChaires (West Palm Beach, FL) -
I have worked in the child abuse field for over 15 years. I cannot tell you how true to form this book actually is. It tells the real story of a child who is abused yet overlooked in todays society. It makes many of us face the reality that we often find to hard to face. If only people could truly recognize that there are many children out there everyday that are enduring this same abuse and often worse. While sometimes graphic and difficult, this type of book is needed to alert people to the problems facing our children today. This goes beyond discipline, crossing the line. Something that most people, who do not abuse their children, rarely believes exists. My congratulations to the authors who had the courage to embark on such a tough project.

This is a REAL story, folks. I heard about it from a coworker at the jail I work at, and I have to be honest that I found it almost depressing to read. It's cold, hard reality.

This book was quite upsetting. How could the step mother do such a thing to such a sweet little boy? How could any one for that matter hurt a child?

This is a very good True Crime book. There were parts where I just had to find my children and hug them. The author was very good at making you feel the pain and agony of the characters. I will certainly be looking for her future books.

A good read and peak into the life of an abused child. It reminds me a lot of the book "A Child Called It".

This is a very sad story about a little boy you'll fall in love with. It was an easy and fast read because it continues to make you want to know the rest of the story to the very end. I highly recommend this book.

This was a very interesting and heartbreaking true crime story. This book focuses heavily on the trial aspect, while I am generally more interested in the psychological aspect. A good read nonetheless, though it made me want to go find some kids and give them hugs.
