Although this is part of a series, it is also a solid stand alone read. If anything this read will influence your need to pick up the previous titles in the series.

Clare and Sonterra are back and life is still as unpredictable as it can be. Tony is taking a job in Dry Creek, Arizona. This sleepy little town has a problem...a big one. Bodies keep disappearing, and bones and dead bodies keep piling up. Who is killing them and why does it seem that Clare is an intended victim?

When one accident leads to another, and ghostly visions keep Clare awake at night, it become more than obvious that things are dangerous for Clare. Will she see the light of day and have a chance to walk down the aisle to her love Sonterra? Or will a killer put an end to that?

Although this reader has not yet read the previous titles I was still highly entertained by this story. Ms. Miller has created some very dynamic characters Ms. K, Emma, Eddie, and Loretta just to name a few are wonderful additions to Tony (Sonterra) and Clare. Their relationship is complex but sensual. I truly believed that these two loved each other, as a result the chemistry between them during the course of the read was in fact a character all itself. Ms. Miller is a shining star in the publishing industry with an amazing talent of weaving words into a wonderful tapestry that entertains.

Third of Claire Westbrook & Tony Sonterra series. All were good reads. Recommend reading in order as not a lot of background info is given in the later two books. Books in order are:

"Don't Look Now"
"Never Look Back"
"One Last Look"

Clare Westbrook has fought hard for her success as a lawyer. Living in Phoenix with her lover, Detective Tony Sonterra, Clare is pregnant and content. She has even accepted Tony's marriage proposal and for a commitment phobe like Clare, that is a true testament of her love. So when Tony accepts a job as Chief of Police in the small town of Dry Creek, Clare reluctantly agrees to give up her practice and make the move too.

Dry Creek is a hotbed for criminal activity. A deadly illegal immigrant smuggling operation is connected to the small town and Tony is determined to eliminate it. Restless, Clare takes a job, much to Tony's chagrin, as an investigator for the D.A.'s office. Clare immediately begins investigating the disappearance of a child whose mother has been murdered.

With the smuggling ring, murders, and the abducted child, Clare is once again in the thick of danger. Tony, working hard to marry Clare as quickly as possible, is also doing everything in his power to protect her. With numerous attempts on her life, it is soon clear that Dry Creek is not safe for Clare or her unborn child.

The third in a set. Interesting characters, humor, wise cracks and good story line. Probably the best series from Linda Lael Miller that I have read.
Stands alone but with the other two, read in sequence, characters will have more depth for the reader. Can't help but love 'em!

A sexy romp with great characters, fast pacing and an involving mystery (actually several). I have not read the first two in the series but this one stands alone. I'll certainly look forward to reading all of them.

This was a very good book. Kept my interest from page one. I've already read the next in the series and it's just as good as this one. Have requested the final and third book and can't wait for it to get here.

The last I think in this 3 part series. As usual Linda Lael Miller writes well and makes you feel the tension without overwhelming you.

Linda Lael Miller ignites the combustible passion between attorney Clare Westbrook and homicide detective Tony Sonterra in this page-turning conclusion to her New York Times bestselling trilogy.

A senseless murder.
A sizzling adventure.

Carrying her lover Tony Sonterra's child, Clare Westbrook has finally buried her commitment phobia and said "yes" to Tony's marriage proposal. So why is fear running through her veins and haunting her dreams? Sonterra is fired up to leave Phoenix for small-town Arizona, to target a lethal desert crime ring. Clare's willing to stand by her man, but he won't be the only one flirting with danger on the job: as a special investigator for the D.A.'s office, Clare is plunged into a race to find a missing child whose mother was murdered. And on a case this hot, the promise of Clare's bright future could vanish in the blink of an eye....

Have to say I'm a little sad that this is the last book of the trilogy. I hadn't read the first two books, {Don't Look Now and Never Look Back) and that didn't get in the way of enjoying this book.

Clare, a pro bono lawyer, and Tony Sonterro, have moved to the small town of Dry Creek, Arizona, where Tony has replaced a 'missing' police chief. There's plenty of heat to go around, whether it's in the bedroom or investigating the latest crime.

Really enjoyed the characters and in many ways reminded of the Monkeewrench investigative team in the books by mother-daughter P J Tracey. (As soon as I clear out some of my TBR books I'm going back to finish that series!
