I suggested this book to my book club, sight unseen. I based it on ratings from this site and "Goodreads". I was surprised it was selected.
However, I wasn't disappointed. This is the kind of mystery thriller I and my club-mates needed to get the blood flowing and clean our pallets between those heavier, darker novels that seem to make up so much of our selection pool. The story moves at a brisk pace as each of the suspects give a first-person account of their lives after becoming "persons of interest" in this bizarre death of an unpopular classmate. I found I had to slow down, at times, when I wasn't sure who's account I was reading as I tend to skip chapter titles and move right into the next paragraph.
To borrow an old metaphor, I felt I was peeling an onion. Each page took off another layer and added a new surprise facet to the mystery, all the way up to the twisted ending. All in all, a very good read :o)

A good mystery that kept me guessing. I liked the characters and the way they handled the impact of such a tragic event with all that was thrown at them in the aftermath and the changes it brought to their lives. Fun reading.
