This is a story of a newly divorced "good girl" and the town "bad boy" that she has a secret summer affair with.
Even though you might think you have read this story a thousand times, Blake takes a well used plot and deepens it with characters that face serious moral dilemmas and plenty of emotional conflict. While at times I felt Blake relied too heavily on the physicality and sexuality of the hero and heroine, and the opening scene felt unlikely in the extreme, I was surprised by the amount of emotion wrought form the tale, and I ended up liking it quite a bit.
What kept me from being able to enjoy it more than I did was that troubling opening scene, a few instances where I felt the heroine was less than noble about her promises to a hero who needed to trust, and something that I have found in other Blake novels...a ending that was altogether too pat for the depth of the rest of the book.

I thought this book was a winner! There were some very emotional scenes that I have to admit REALLY got to me and there are not many authors that can get that kind of reaction out of me...so way to go Toni Blake! I thought Mick's emotional turmoil was just so heartbreaking. I didn't find myself feeling as much sympathy for Jenny. Maybe because she wasn't totally honest and her idea of "keeping a secret" was a lot different from mine. Plus her being wronged by a cheating husband to me didn't compare to being wronged for a lifetime by parents, society and circumstance.

This is another great book by Toni Blake. I devoured it in one day! It is emotional, funny and totally sexy! (a scorcher) One Reckless Summer is the first in a series, can't wait to get my hands on the rest of them.

Toni Blake does it again! I loved this book as I have all her books I have read so far. I simply could not put it down. I can't wait to read her next book! And I hope it is soon.

I really loved this story. I thought the characters and story grab me from the beginning to end. The story was STEAMY HOT, just the way I like them. Since reading this book, I have also read another one of Toni Blakes books and loved it as well. I know now that I will be reading a lot more Toni Blake books.
