Setting is French Alps St. Antoine ski resort. Eva Van den Berg and Topher St Clair-Bridges are co-owners of Snoop, an App company that allows members to listen to celebrities and other members' music playlists. Liz Owens has a 2% share also. This holiday has been planned as a way to have a meeting about a buy-out of the company. Eva and Topher are vying for Liz's vote. Before meeting they decide to ski the slopes as a major snow storm is about to hit. Eva goes missing and is presumed dead. Is Eva missing or has she been murdered? To complicate matters even more, the snow storm hits and causes an avalanche trapping them in the chalet without WIFI service. After two more murders, they decide there must be a serial killer amongst them.
Book has a slow start as characters are introduced but a very intense situation develops towards the end that keeps the pages turning. I had an obvious suspect in the beginning but expected a plot twist to change that which never came. I was a bit disappointed so the book lost a star from me. I found this book similar to Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. Two POV narrators were very interesting but I expected a surprise ending.

A Tech start-up company called Snoop is taking a holiday at a remote chalet in the French Alps. They are planning to ski the slopes, eat fine food, and have a meeting to talk about a buy-out. On their first day, the group decides to get in some skiing before a storm hits. One of their party does not come back from the slopes. As the members try to figure out when and where Eva was last seen, the heavy snowfall causes an avalanche which traps the members of the party in the Chalet. Cut off from civilization with limited food and no internet access, another person dies. This time everyone knows that there is a murderer in their midst.

Thankfully, the story was easy to follow after the information dump at the beginning of the story.

The narrator, Imogen Church, does an excellent job with all of the members of the party. There are several red herrings throughout this story. Once you figure out who the characters are, and get past how annoying many of them are, this book does a good job of keeping you reading. Though I did figure out who 'it' was before the book actually tells you, and it gets a little draggy towards the end, it was ok.

I've read and enjoyed most of Ware's other books. This was decent, but not my favorite. Slow to start/end, but the middle was edge of your seat exciting.
I'm an off-again-on-again Ruth Ware fan. Some of her books are great and others just so-so.
This was too predictable and the only excitement for me was the very ending when Erin and Liz are skiing thru the pass. I'm not a skier so don't know how accurate the description was but geez, most of it was way over the top. I mean, either woman would have been dead twenty minutes into the trip if it was real. Anyway, I'm off Ruth Ware for a while.

Good Grief! This is one of my go to authors. Definately not up to par with all her other books. a little confusing, unlikable characters and another Ten Little Indians plot! Just so-so.
Book 6 towards my goal of 240! 4/5 stars for this adult mystery read! Loved the concept. Great story, great characters! Loved the cover. Great for fans of "and then there were none!" Highly recommend.
Excellent mystery/horror book. Thought tech knowledge would make it hard to understand but it turned out ok. Quite a page-turner.
I enjoyed this book much more than I was expecting to despite some seriously despicable characters. The only one I liked was Erin. I did guess the murderer as well but it had some suspenseful moments. It's a cold book and aptly named. I found it to be fun reading!
This story started at the beginning and kept you reading until the last page! If you haven't read Ruth Ware, what are you waiting for?!
I enjoyed this novel until the body count went way up, and then it seemed like a remake of Agatha Christie. Hope you like skiing!
