This is the sixth book in the Thursday Next series, and the author continues to offer books that I can't put down once I start reading them. Fforde keeps this book interesting by introducing a new cast of characters, but includes enough of the old ones to keep fans happy. The plot line follows a mystery full of danger and excitement--but possibly the best thing about the book is that's it's packed with puns, literary references (some quite current), and comments that poke fun at grammar and writing.

It's gotten a little bit hard to follow since the Crimean War ended. At least there's a map, although not all the places are on it (Where's Poetry Island?!?)

Loved this series, this last book was a little hard to get into but once the plot picked up it was well worth the read.
