This is my favorite Iris Johansen book by far. I loved it. Elena is one of the best characters I have encountered. Strong, independent, troubled, but with strong maternal instincts. Galen is funny and appreciates her for what she is. If you like books with a strong female lead, and a character you will very much like, this is the one for you. A million stars!

The book is fast paced with twists and turns. It was very hard to put down as I needed to know what was going to happen next. You knew the eventual conclusion but were never quite sure how it was going to get to that place. She keeps you guessing and you find yourself thinking, "What would I do in that situation".
