This has a complex, convoluted, yet spurious plot that can only be found in one of auntie's novels. Yes, the culprit will confess to Poirot at the end a la uncle Erle's courtroom dramatics, sans the courtroom. Also this has an unlikely culprit who does his dirty work impersonating a professional. The intrigue is here, but the denouement is as ludicrous as ever.
